Mount Holly Elementary School

Guidance

Welcome to the Mount Holly School Guidance Web Page

This is my first year serving every Wednesday as school counselor at Mount Holly. My counseling background includes social work in a VA hospital and school counseling at the White River Elementary School in WRJ, VT. Previously I’ve worked as a classroom teacher, arts administrator, and community relations director. I received my Master’s Degree in Education in School Counseling from Plymouth State University in 2006.

I live in a log house in Hanover, NH with my husband Peter, a third grade teacher. Our daughter Mikaela is a sophomore at Emory University in Atlanta, and our son Jared is a recent college graduate working abroad as a news editor.

The guidance program at Mount Holly School consists of weekly lessons for all classes K-6, small group work, and individual counseling. The guidance lessons cover a variety of topics including understanding of self and others; interpersonal and communication skills; decision-making and problem-solving; school success skills and goal-setting; career exploration and academic planning; and personal safety.

I’m delighted to work at Mount Holly, an exceptional school. I’m impressed with the open-minded dedication of the staff and the open-hearted interest of the students. I look forward to coming to work here every week.

If you would like to make an appointment to speak with me about a school-related concern, please leave a message in the school office (802-259-2392), or email me at malsin@valley.net.
